Antique Vehicle Registration
A procedure for obtaining an antique vehicle registration in Delaware must be completed when car owners want to register and legally operate their motor vehicles on public roads. The antique car registration process must be completed through the state Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
Applying for an antique car registration will require vehicle owners to complete the procedure by visiting a local DE DMV branch. In order to complete the procedure, drivers will be mandated to satisfy a set of requirements and to provide the needed documentation.
The requirements for registering a vintage car are generally the same as for a regular vehicle registration. Therefore, vehicle owners will have to provide a similar documentation and complete the following steps:
Provide a certificate of title.
Pass the DMV inspection within 90 days of the first application (antique vehicles are exempt from further inspection).
Pay a fee of $25 for antique status
In addition to these documents, vehicle owners may be required to provide other documents, when the vehicle has a lien-holder or if it is leased.
